About Us

The Ontario Hoof Trimmers Guild (OHTG) was created in 2006 by 24 hoof trimmers at a meeting held in Stratford with the help of the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture and Agri-Food (OMAFRA) in Fergus.

The OHTG is not a regulatory body governing the actions of hoof trimmers or it's members in Ontario or abroad

We are a non-profit organization created to allow the networking and pooling of knowledge for advancing the professionalism of hoof trimming in Ontario. We currently represent the interests of 40 of the 60 known trimmers in the province of Ontario.

We do this by creating continuing education programs at our annual conference dealing with many issues from safety, trimming techniques, anatomy and equipment updates
