Codes of Practice Regarding Hoof Trimming of Cattle

Ontario Hoof Trimmers Guild RCOP
(Adopted June 15th -16th 2007 Conference)

1. To move the animal in and out of the chute with as minimal stress as possible to the animal, the trimmer, farm personnel and;

2. shorten the length of the toe to the comfort of the animal and;

3. trim and balance the sole and heel of the foot to the maximal comfort of the animal and;

4. to treat afflictions with as minimal stress as possible to the animal.
